Dr Christopher Norris is a Chartered Physiotherapist (MCSP) who qualified from Pinderfields College in 1981. He gained a Masters degree (MSc) in Exercise Science (physical habilitation) from Liverpool University in 1988 and a Doctorate (PhD) from Staffordshire University in 2009. His PhD research was on spinal rehabilitation. Chris holds postgraduate certification in both Occupational Health (cert OH) and Orthopaedic medicine (MSOM).

An experienced acupuncturist, Chris trained in western acupuncture in the 1980’s with the Society of Biophysical Medicine and gained an advanced certificate in Chinese Acupuncture from Renshu college in London in 1999. He is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC), and an advanced member and tutor for the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

Chris Norris is the author of twelve books on physiotherapy, exercise, and acupuncture.  His textbook ‘Managing sport injuries’ (Elsevier) is the set book on many physiotherapy and sport therapy courses, and his book ‘Back Stability’ (Human Kinetics) has received top reviews in both the UK and USA. Chris has also produced educational CDs on Back Stability, Acupuncture, Stretching exercise and Weight training.

Chris has published over 200 magazine articles.  He has written scientific papers in peer reviewed journals, and articles for popular health, exercise, and science magazines.

A popular postgraduate lecturer, Dr Norris lectures widely to therapists, doctors and exercise professionals. He holds a postgraduate certificate in medical education (PGCmed ed) from Staffordshire University. Chris is a visiting lecturer and external examiner to several universities.

Chris Norris runs two private clinics in Cheshire and Manchester (UK) and provides consultancy services to sports teams and blue chip industries.  He was the physiotherapist to Sale Harriers athletics for over 15 years attending national and international meets.  An active sportsman himself, Chris has a black belt in Ju Jitsu and teaches both Pilates and Yoga.
