Who is Club Physio?
Craig Smith, Director of Club Physio and former physio to the SA Proteas cricket team from 1991 - 2002 qualified from the University of Cape Town with a BSc Physio and a BSc Sports Science in 1989.
His first professional sports physio position was as physio to the touring rebel England cricket team to South Africa in 1990 (Mike Gatting was captain). He then joined the South African cricket team from 1991 - 2002 as the lead team physio. Craig worked and toured with the likes of Kepler Wessels, Hansie Cronje, Jonty Rhodes and Jacques Kallis and also worked in club rugby (UCT), professional football (Hellenic) and tennis (exhibition series of matches with Anna Kournikova and Amanda Coetzer).
In 2003-2010 Craig worked in county cricket in the UK with Lancashire, Nottingham (2004-2009) and as a consultant physio with Hampshire in 2010. In 2003 he start Club Physio, a seminar and courses facilitating company that now runs and facilitates physio, sports medicine and manual therapy course in Southern Africa, the UK, Ireland, Europe, India, Asia and the Middle East and the USA.
