Advanced and Neuro-Fascial course Objectives for Course Modules 1-3\n\nPar
ticipants in FT Introductory course will:\n\n Obtain a conceptual underst
anding and practical application of lighter touch and the engagement of ea
se versus bind positions that underlie the foundation principles of direct
(bind) versus Indirect (ease) technique whose intention at all times is t
o create NO PAIN.\n• Understand how lighter touch is to coin an adage\,
the “homeopathy of bodywork”\, LESS IS MORE.\n• Obtain an understand
ing of myofascial treatment methods and modalities and how these methods/m
odalities are utilized within the scope of Fascial Therapy.\n• Obtain a
basic understanding of the concept of myofascial anatomy and structure as
related by work of Thomas Myer’s Anatomy Trains\, Serge Paoletti’s Fas
cial Chains\, Robert Schleip’s Magic Spots: High Leverage Points in the
Myofascia Net\, and Schultz’s Body Retinacula or Body Straps.\n• Obtai
n an understanding of the most current evidenced based research concerning
the field of connective tissue including the neurobiology and neurophysio
logy concerning recent myofascial theories with reference to Schleips’ F
ascial Plasticity.\n• Be introduced to assessment of the global cardinal
lines of myofascial tension following the template Thomas Myers Anatomy T
rains.\n• Observe through photos or video applied FT technique of superf
icial myofascial soft- tissue layer according to lines of myofascial tensi
on.\n• Obtain a basic understanding of the physiology of the how the Aut
 onomic\nNervous System’s discharge facilitates soft- tissue release.\n
 • Understand how the ANS discharge has a strong systemic effect and the\
nneed for ‘periodic disengagement’ (Shea) or ‘pace &amp\; space’ (
Goldstein) so as not to overload the autonomic nervous system &amp\; creat
e an overtreatment situation.\n• Understand the concepts of osteopathic
‘Ease’\, ‘Bind’ &amp\; ‘Stacking’\n• Observe palpation of th
ree planes of myofascial distortion within the superficial fascial layers:
sagittal\, coronal &amp\; transverse directions.\n• Observe the core te
chniques that underpin Fascial Therapy\,\nthat include the ‘Two Point’
\, the ‘Fulcrum’ as applied static &amp\; leverage\ncompression.\n•

f motion. Useful techniques that address superficial fascial sleeve distor
tion that are presented.\n• In a general context understand conceptually
the spiral and rotational barriers effecting extremities and the torso of
the body including bilateral applications\, rolling motion and torsion ba
rrier releases.\n• Be introduced to various Fascial Therapy Foundation s
equences to establish a fundamental protocol for integrating Fascial Thera
py into their existing professional practice.\n• Understand the importan
ce of the autonomic nervous system to soft-tissue release. Have a sense of
potential side-effects of myofascial releasing methods and understand pro
tocol associated with somato-emotional releasing.\n\nFascial Therapy Intro
ductory Course Modules\n\nModule 1 - Cardinal Lines of Myofascial Tension/
Myofascial Concepts\, Theory &amp\; Principles\, with Direct MFR Applicati
ons - 3 Hours.\n\nThe participant is introduced to the theory and concepts
that underpin Fascial Therapy. Included is a brief survey of fascial anat
omy and the integral concept of ‘tensegrity’.\nModels and patterns of
myofascial chains are presented to give the viewer an opportunity to compa
re and contrast patterns that are used to assess myofascial restrictions.\
nWe then de-construct Thomas Myers primary cardinal lines of myofascial te
nsion by viewing the elements of the superficial back and superficial fron
 t lines.\n\nModule 2 - Direct &amp\; Indirect Applications - 3 Hours\;\n\n
Module 2 bridges direct with indirect modalities that effect the myofascia
l soft-tissue. This includes how Fascial Therapy has utilised modified MET
Muscle Energy Technique to effect joint and ligamentous mechano-sensory r
eceptor change through the interface of the central and autonomic nervous
systems.\n\nWe will unpack the structures of Myers anatomy Train model for
the lateral line and augment that with three-dimensional Fascial Therapy
releases that include ‘levering’ of connect long bones of the body\, b
ody rolling releases and approximation of position and gravity to change v
ertebral spinal joint receptors. Lastly in this module will look at suppor
ting and holding technique that has polyvagal effects. Along with a discus
sion of the expression of the autonomic nervous system\, avoiding autonomi
 c exhaustion and protocol for somato-emotional releasing.\n\nModule 3 - Le
vering Techniques for Upper and Lower Extremities\; Myofascial Arm Lines:
 Structure\, Assessment\, Palpation &amp\; Technique - 3 Hours\n\nIn Module
3 the important part of Fascial Articulations is introduced through joint
levering and modified MET. This is integrated through detailing Myers Myo
fascial Arm Lines in his anatomy Train model. We watch how his structure a
nd template is utilised in the Fascial Therapy model. This is achieved thr
ough applied techniques to the upper extremities\, axial spine\, scapula\,
thorax and pelvis. Complexity is achieved through ‘stacking’ various
levering both uni-lateral and paired in short and long positioning from su
pine and side-lying positions.\n\nFascial Therapy Advanced Course Modules\
 n\nModule 4 - Spine\, Scapula and Thorax - 3 Hours\n\nThe advanced module
4 course in Fascial Therapy is a more focused and detailed view of the bio
mechanics of spinal motions including laws and types of motion\, how to pa
lpate the fundamental landmarks of the transverse and spinal process to as
sess and then apply Fascial Therapy technique. This cause has drawn on phy
siotherapy\, osteopathy and structural integration.\n\nWe will palpate and
apply myofascial technique that is exceptionally effective and also simpl
istic\, so as to be integrated immediately into clinical practice. As with
the Foundations course\, Fascial Therapy concepts of ‘ease-bind’\,
‘fulcrums’\, levering and modified MET are utilised in a more complica
ted manner.\nFacet joint restrictions are addressed as well as ‘receptor
enhancement’ for the thoracic and lumbar spine.\n\nModule 5 &amp\; 6 De
ep Front Line – Advanced FT techniques - 3 hours each per module\n\nDeep
Front Line – Learning Outcomes\n\nThe outcomes for this course have gre
ater complexity\, as the DFL deep front line as a core line\, constitutes
an enormity in structure to create an understanding of relationship.\n\nIn
cluded in learning outcomes for this two-part module:\n\n ‘Benchmarks
’\, the ‘Hook-up’ and the Polyvagal theory are discussed.\n• Parti
cipants will learn the constituent structures that constitute the DFL acco
rding to Thomas Myers Anatomy Train model.\n• Introduction to the postur
al and movement function of the DFL\n• Presentation and palpation of the
core muscles that constitute the DFL\n• Palpation of key landmarks and
myofascial ‘tracks’.\n• Integrate the relationships of the structure
s related to the DFL.\n• Introduction to a series of Myers articles enti
tled ‘Fans of the Hip Joint’ written in Massage magazine in the late 1
990’s.\n• Conceptually learn that no muscle should be treated separate
ly from groups of muscles.\n• Clinically problem-solve complex soft-tiss
ue patterns for muscle\, tendon\, ligament and joint that are usually refe
rred to as chains\, slings\, lines or transfer points.\n• Understand Fas
cial Therapy FT treatment protocol including ‘ease-bind’ assessment an
d technique.\n• Introduced and practice ‘Fulcrums’ both static and g
lide.\n• Understand basic concepts of tensegrity\, manual soft-tissue lo
ading (Lederman)\, and how we adjust our touch ‘variables’.\n• Pract
ice specific fulcrums\; i.e.\, umbilicus.\n• Employ special tests for th
e scalenes.\n• Apply FT joint levering technique protocol to the gleno-h
 umeral\, sterno-clavicular and 1-2nd rib.\n• Anatomy and palpation plus
technique is applied to the hyoid musculature\, including\; digrastric ant
 erior belly\, mylohyoid\, stylohyoid\, sternohyoid\, omohyoid and thyrohyo
id.\n• Learn\, palpate and apply technique protocol for the respiratory
diaphragm as drawn from Keleman\, Key and the Postural Restoration Institu
te.\n• Understand the diaphragmic ‘zone of apposition’\, anterior in
terior chain\, brachial chain and Sibson’s pleural mediastinum.\n• FT
technique will be applied to core muscles of the DFL including the psoas\,
  illicus\, pectineus\, quadratus lumborum\, adductor group\, select deep l
ateral rotator and pelvic floor musculature\, finishing with the popliteus
and ‘toe’ flexors.\n• Understand and practice assessment and techni
que application to the lumbar facets.\n\nModule 7 Neurofascial Mobilisatio
