y 1 Course\nThe Fascial Therapy 1 course is designed to introduce the begi
nner as well as the experienced practitioner to a broad spectrum of myofas
cial releasing methods that encompass all soft-tissue.\n\nFascia is the fo
rm that encases and surrounds all soft-tissue\, creating compartments\, co
ntainers and scaffolding to anchor tissue. With this understanding\, basic
applied methods can be adapted and applied to this form to create efficie
nt rapid change.\n\nFascial Therapy introduces direct and indirect methods
employing active and passive techniques that utilize sensory receptor act
ivation\, understanding the autonomic system response that results in the
application of these various techniques.\n\nEmphasis is placed upon assess
ment patterns through fundamental palpation of lines of myofascial tension
. These include cardinal lines\; anterior\, posterior and lateral\, as wel
l as four arm line (Myers) are palpated and then technique applied. These
line have areas that are not usually palpated\, and it is these areas (int
ermuscular septums for example) that often result in not achieving the des
ired clinical outcomes for a practitioner.\n\nUnderstanding the importance
of presence and intent as clinical ‘tools’.\nUnderstanding the respon
se and importance of the autonomic nervous system in relation to systemic
discharges and soft-tissue release.\nInstructed is the use of ‘ease-bind
’ osteopathic assessment protocol for clinical decision-making\, palpati
on and technique.\n\nFocus is also placed on joint accessory motion and th
e important interface with myofascial.\nThus joint leverage compression an
d tension techniques are introduced that allow for rapid change to the sur
rounding capsular tissue.\n\nLigament technique options as well as locatio
ns of application are instructed.\nIndirect application in the form of the
‘Two Point’ is instructed and protocol to release transverse planes a
re practiced. Within this protocol anterior neck muscles\, supra and infra
-hyoid muscles will be palpated and treated.\n\nAnd integrated into this s
ystem of bodywork is the use of modified Muscle Energy Technique MET\, use
d to treat ‘bind’ directional barriers\, enhance receptor response and
assess muscular inhibition.\n\nThe last module will be a clinical practic
e session\, where clients\, friends or family are invited so as to experie
nce the instruction and new skills acquired by participants. This is also
a time to instruct more complexity and showcase material for Fascial Thera
py 2.\n\nBy the completion of this course\, the practitioner will have a n
ew way of clinical thought\, have new application skills that use much les
s force and effort to achieve desirable effects\, reducing pain sensitivit
y usually experience by more forceful applications.\n\nDay 1 Direct Applic
