 nThis is the Lower Quadrant course in the Mulligan Concept of mobilization
 \, one of three courses offered under the Mulligan Concept Teacher’s Ass
 ociation. The remaining courses include: Upper Quadrant and Advance Course
 . The UQ\, LQ and FU courses are required for eligibility to sit for the C
 ertified Mulligan Practitioner (CMP) exam – see www.bmulligan.com for up
 coming exams. This manual therapy approach\, developed by New Zealand phys
 iotherapist\, Brian R. Mulligan\, F.N.Z.S.P.\, Dip. M.T.\, has clinical ap
 plication to extremity and spinal joint dysfunction\, principally utilizin
 g the concept of Mobilization with Movement (MWM). This is an innovative a
 pproach in the field of physical therapy\, growing in popularity because o
 f its success\, broad application\, and relative ease with which it applie
 d and evaluated for efficacy. The skills taught in this course have immedi

 At the end of this course\, participants will:-\n• Be able to describe t
 he tenets of the Mulligan Concept\n• Have the guidelines necessary to ap
 ply\, when indicated\, painless techniques to improve neuromuscular and jo
 int function\n• Display enhanced handling skills specific to techniques 
 presented in the 5th edition of the textbook.\n• The ability to integrat
 e the Mulligan Concept into the evaluative process\n• At the end of each
  day\, course participants may be required to demonstrate at least one tec
 hnique in front of the class. This is a group learning experience.\nDay 1:

 ic Traction\n\nThere will be a 15 minute morning and afternoon break each 
 day\, in addition to a 1/2 hour lunch break. The host is responsible for 
 providing morning/ afternoon tea/coffee and snacks. Meals are not provided
 .\n\n\nParticipant responsibilities:\n Dress appropriately (sportsbra f
 or women upper quadrant\, shorts for lower quadrant)\n Review of the 6t
 h edition of Brian Mulligan’s book: Manual Therapy\, NAGs\, SNAGs\, MWM
 ’s etc is HIGHLY recommended prior to the course.\n Participants must
  take personal responsibility for communicating to their lab partner and/o
 r instructor any physical problem that might contraindicate having the tec
 hniques performed on them\n\n\nInstructor Biography:\nGeoff graduated with
  a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy in 1988 and a post-graduate Honours degree in Sp
 ort Science in 1989 at the University of Cape Town\, South Africa.\nIn 19
 91 he moved to Connecticut where he continued to practice orthopedic phys
 iotherapy until 2007. He graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2002 with
  an MS in Orthopedic Physical Therapy\, and is also certified by the Amer
 ican Physical Therapy Association as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist.\n
 Geoff is an Internationally Accredited Instructor in the Mulligan Concept\
 , and has lectured extensively in the USA\, frequently assisting Brian Mu
 lligan\, FNZSP\, Dip. MT\, since 1996.\nGeoff returned from the USA in 200
 7 and practices in Cape Town\, and remains an active member of the Mullig
 an Concept Executive Board (visit: WWW.BMULLIGAN.COM). \nHe is also a Cert
 ified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the USA based National Str
