 ed including physiotherapy early during mechanical ventilation to speed th
 e process of weaning. As the rehabilitation specialist in the ICU team\, p
 hysiotherapists do play a vital role in regaining muscle strength\, includ
 ing respiratory muscle strength. Therefore physiotherapists should work cl
 osely with the ICU team to develop an individualised weaning plan. If you
