EFFECTIVE HIP STABILITY AND BIOMECHANICS – with Tanya Thompson; via zoom meeting
As we age or do specific sports, our hips health is impacted negatively which results in wear and tear of the joint or instability within the joint due to muscular imbalance or movement compensations. Before we can create a client specific movement and rehabilitation program, we need to be familiar with the biomechanics of the hip joint as well as the possible compensations that could occur during movement. When these compensations occur, we also need to understand what the reasons for the compensations would be? Hip stability is reliant on spinal and pelvic stability and therefore, a hawk’s eye is required when assessing a client’s hip movement. Client movement or musculoskeletal restrictions have to be considered as this will affect the efficacy of a client specific program. This course provides you with a comprehensive, yet safe, hip stability program with all of the additional contributing factors i.e., spinal and pelvic positioning. We take specific pathology into consideration and look at the most effective way to avoid injury.
