E-CONFERENCE SPEAKERS

1. Paula Nutting (Aussie). Don’t let a shoulder fall blow your sporting career – Falls, especially onto the shoulder can dramatically reduce performance for shoulder specific sports. We look into the myofascial meridians and show you how to pin down  locked muscle/s and get range and power back quickly.

2. Jo-dee Pryce (SA). It is hidden in plain sight – is the cerebellum and its role in musculoskeletal dysfunction’.

3. Helene Simpson (SA). Those tricky ankles….! I will share some cases that drove me and the medical team to distraction.. And provide you with some tips that we learnt and can share in hindsight.

4. Sam Nupen (SA). Headaches in Sport – Exertional headaches are just one of the types of headaches that athletes experience. Symptomatically there is debilitating pain during or immediately after physical activity, which comes on suddenly and can last for days, but does eventually go away. We will discuss the etiology, pathology and management of exertional headaches as well as touch on some other causes of headaches in athletes.

5. Caren Fleishman (SA). Complex shoulder patients – identifying barriers to recovery, differential diagnosis, what are the treatment options?

6. Corlia Brandt (SA). Complex pelvic floor injuries – Delving into the management of neural, muscular, anatomical and trauma related components within a interprofessional approach.

7. Lindsay Harris (SA). Recurrent female ACL tears – do gender, hypermobility, menstrual cycle and previous injury all play a part?

8. Karine Bezuidenhout (SA). Thoracic back pain – Managing the whole patient. We will explore the tools available to manage thoracic back pain including associated joint (shoulder, SC) dysfunction, Lumbo-pelvic rehab components, the post surgical patient and managing thoracic pathologies too.

9. Inge Croy (SA). The Complex Calf.… A case study looking at the RTP process of a rugby player with recurring calf strains.
