MANAGING SPORTS INJURIES ONLINE COURSE – with Jacqui McCord-Uys – via zoom meeting; – Modules 1-4

Objective:

I aim to give you confidence and knowledge in handling any sports injury whether it’s for a professional athlete or an amateur sportsman. I hope to equip you with enough tools for you to give your sportsman the best advice and treatment possible.

I will empower the practitioner to positively contribute to any level sports team or sports event.

This course will also stimulate you in doing further research since there is so much in this field that can be improved and discovered.

Course Outline:

This is concise course covering most sports injuries with an in-depth look at Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation of these injuries.

In Diagnosis we cover testing and evaluation methods to obtain the most accurate diagnosis for speedy recovery. We also consider sport specific influences.

In Treatment we cover various approaches & also look at what is the latest approach. We question past and new practices. Basic taping with injuries is covered but more detail is covered in the Taping course.

In Rehabilitation we look at the tried and tested and consider some ‘out the box’ methods. I also emphasize a sport specific approach.

Lastly, we look at the practitioner’s field side role and team involvement and look at a few ethics pointers.

Program:

Please note the modules may run over to the next module but everything will be covered by the end of the course since practical demonstrations often take longer than predicted.
