Dr George Muntingh – Brief CV
George is a clinical pharmacologist and senior lecturer in pharmacology in the department of Pharmacology, University of Pretoria. He obtained his PhD in ‘The Use of Ketamine and Midazolam for Paedodontic Conscious Sedation’ from the Medical University of Southern Africa (MEDUNSA). George is a member of various medical panels and also has a special interest in aviation medicine. He also has a particular interest in Continuous Professional Development and strongly believes that the maintenance of clinical excellence in the profession lies in post-qualification learning. George has published widely and has written various pharmacology manuals and has published a book on ’Drug Interactions between Medication and Contact Lenses’. He is currently a member of the South African Pharmacology Society as well as the American College of Clinical Pharmacology. His clinical interests include medication used in asthma, diabetes, hypertension and pain adn he teaches course on the Pharmacology Of Drugs Used For Musculosketal Disorders. |
