Course description:

Do you struggle to treat shoulders? Do you give all your shoulder patients the same exercises? If so, this course is for you!

This interactive, hands-on course will assist in clearing up your confusion about the shoulder. The detailed assessment, clinical reasoning and improved choice of effective treatment techniques and exercises will make the management of the challenging shoulder complex logical and exciting. Practical sessions will assist in re-inforcing clinical reasoning & manual therapy skills. The course is an integrated neural, muscular articular approach based on the latest evidence-based literature and includes:

• Anatomy and biomechanics
• Shoulder syndromes
• Detailed subjective & objective assessment including active, passive & resisted movements, special tests & interpretation thereof
• Detailed treatment techniques & rehabilitation exercises
• Clinical reasoning skills regarding examination and treatment

Caren Fleishman MSc PT

Caren has her Masters in Physiotherapy and is OMT trained. She has travelled extensively internationally & nationally with various sporting codes & multi-coded events over the years. She has been to 3 Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, 3 All Africa Games and Maccabiah Games in Israel. She is currently the SA Women’s Soccer team physiotherapist (Banyana Banyana).

Caren lectures to post-graduate physiotherapists on Orthopedics Manual Therapy & on Sports Physiotherapy course. She presented country wide a taping workshop for the SASP and Clinical Solutions. When not travelling and lecturing Caren works in private practice in Johannesburg.
