Past Participant feedback;

The course is worth every cent. It includes many ‘lightbulb’ and ‘aha’ moments. Not only is it very enlightening, but I received loads of resources from Tracy Prowse which I have to keep and refer back to whenever the need arises. It was thoroughly enjoyable – Bailey, Physiotherapist:

Tracy Prowse from Physifun has provided training and on going support to the teachers & health professionals at our Early Learning Centre since the beginning of 2013. There has been a continuous mentorship programme through visits, email messages and WhatsApp and they have attended several workshops at Solms Delta as well as in service training at the school. There have also been parent lectures on the importance of physical activity, movement and healthy nutrition for the optimal learning of their children. These have taken place in the evenings at the school. Participants acquire easy to implement, practical and cost effective ideas on how to provide the best learning environment for their children, from these workshops. – Jacquie

Thank you very much for the webinar by Tracy Prowse I found the information and ideas practical and of such a nature that they can be implemented easily within a therapy session.’ Thank you for all your help in running the course via webinar. Definitely a great option of how to run courses! Janet – Physiotherapist

Just wanted to thank you for arranging the webinars with Tracy. It was an incredibly interesting course. – Liz – OT

A big thank you for your organisation and liaison with the webinar courses last week. I got a lot out of them, especially the Physifun course. I found it nostalgic listening to the South African accents and the content was excellent and I was particularly impressed with Tracy’s use of evidence; Michelle – physio

I am a post community service Occupational Therapist working in rural Eastern Cape. I enrolled in and completed the PhysiFun Fundamentals course presented by Tracy Prowse in May 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed it! The course was informative, clear and concise and gave me a clear understanding of what PhysiFun entails and how it can be implemented in various settings. Working in a rural setting has its challenges and Tracy acknowledged this by going above and beyond in providing countless resources and aids that can be used when implementing the program in different settings. I would definitely recommend this course for any occupational therapist or physiotherapist with a passion for working with children – OT attendee

HOLISTIC CHILD DEVELOPMENT & HEALTH COURSE – Ensuring healthy children for healthy futures – via zoom meeting – Modules 1-4

COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course aims to provide the clinician with an overview of the various biological, psychosocial, environmental and behavioural factors that affect a child’s development and health. The objective of this course is to facilitate a holistic, integrated understanding of a child’s health and development, with reference to the brain, central nervous system and the mind – body connection.

The merging of the biology of human pain, stress and performance with the psychological and social environment, is the basic philosophy of Tracy’s workshops. It is essentially ‘scientific holism’ and is in keeping with international scientific discoveries and changing health practice. Overall, the nervous system is a mobile, complex, remarkable, plastic and changeable organ, and this impacts on both acute and chronic disease states and childhood devleopment.

Tracy hopes to provide her participants with the understanding and practical take-home tools of how to capitalise on a child’s nervous system’s complexities to make significant and long-lasting changes to their patient’s health & wellness.

The worldwide trend of a growing number of children dropping out of sport at an earlier age, getting burnout as young as 13 and developing overuse sporting injuries pre adolescence are discussed. Many of the reasons for these children not “staying in the game” are completely avoidable through education of the relevant adults in the child’s life. Participants will be taught how to prevent children from developing injuries and they will receive up-to-date-relevant and evidence based ideas for exercises and interventions to use with children under the age of 14, in order to prevent injury in a safe sporting environment.
