with Dr David Lintonbon
Intended learning outcomes (for the unit/module)
Aims & Rationale:
This Spinal and Peripheral Manipulation online streaming course is designed to enhance attendees understanding and ability to demonstrate skills in palpation, biophysical examination and diagnosis for the use of grade 5 manipulative techniques. The course will enable and assist the delegate to enhance their palpatory and manipulation skills clearly and accurately.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course the student will be able to demonstrate:
1. The ability to select and modify a broader range of grade 5 manipulation/HVT manipulation techniques, according to the needs of the patient;
2. A critical appreciation of grade 5 manipulation treatment protocols and their appropriate application;
3. A developed awareness of the neurophysiological effects of grade5 manipulation along with indications and contra-indications to each technique;
4. A developed level of palpatory skill with an advanced knowledge of palpatory characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues;
5. An ability to monitor the effect of treatment intervention via palpation;
6. A critical appreciation of the therapeutic value of touch and palpation in conjunction with other evaluation methods;
7. An ability to record palpatory findings and to use them effectively as a means of monitoring the effects of specific techniques.
