THE 4TH MENINGEAL LAYER ONLINE COURSE; Pathophysiology of the neurolymphatic disorders – the SLYM and the Glymphatics with Dr Ray Perrin – via zoom meeting

A must for any physiotherapist, osteopath or physician treating post traumatic head injuries or any neurological disorders.

This 3hr lecture will focus on this year’s major discovery of a fourth meningeal layer that compartmentalizes the subarachnoid space in the human brain, which has been named the subarachnoid lymphatic-like membrane (SLYM). This membrane provides a barrier to macromolecules of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the outer layer. The inner subarachnoid space guides healthy CSF along the penetrating arterioles into the brain parenchyma preventing inflammatory toxins and cytokines from entering the central nervous system.

Dr Perrin will discuss how physical trauma to the cranium and spine and inflammation in this region could potentially lead to the rupture of the SLYM which is only one cell wide. By altering CSF flow patterns, this could lead to the prolonged disturbance of the glymphatic system leading to disorders like ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia and possibly many more neurological diseases.

Manual Diagnosis and Treatment of these disorders will be discussed.
