Mark Brown – Brief CV Mark is an Australian Physiotherapy Association titled Sport Physiotherapist, a Fellow of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation, and also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. He currently holds senior management positions at Sports Medicine Australia as the Executive Officer of the SMA Queensland Branch, the SMA National Professional Development Manager and International Liaison Officer, as well as adjunct academic positions as Assistant Professor of Physiotherapy in the School of Health Sciences and Medicine at Bond University, and as the course convenor of ‘Sports Medicine for Coaches’ at Griffith University. His previous positions include the Executive Director of the Australian Physiotherapy Association New South Wales Branch and the Director of Physiotherapy for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, during which he coordinated a team of over 500 physiotherapists at the Athlete’s Village Polyclinic and also 63 competition and training venues. Mark’s international sports event experience as a Sports Physiotherapist also includes the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, as well as numerous other national and international events. Mark’s main clinical interest areas are the prevention and management of emergencies in sport, the use of neuromuscular training programs for sports injury prevention and performance enhancement, and also the use of taping techniques as an adjunct for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. He is the co-author with his wife Maria Constantinou of the international book ‘Therapeutic Taping for Musculoskeletal Conditions’ published in 2010 by Churchill Livingstone.
